Aztec

@aztecnetwork took essential steps towards bolstering its security ahead of mainnet launch by engaging @zksecurityXYZ, @zellic_io, and @SpearbitDAO to audit its complex Bigfield primitive, aiming to ensure code integrity and address vulnerabilities. The results of the audit can be viewed here: https://azt3c-st.webflow.io/blog/security-of-the-aztec-network-audits-of-bigfield

Telos

@HelloTelos introduced the Polygon Hermez zkEVM proof wrapper with Plonky2 GoldiBear, achieving record-breaking efficiency. Capable of aggregating 1024 zkEVM proofs in 5.2 seconds, it reduces on-chain verification costs and latency. The wrapper eliminates the costly fflonk process, cutting computation time by 90 seconds. With a low 900 ms wrapping time and minimal memory usage, this boosts zkEVM scalability, cost efficiency, and transaction finality. @StarkWareLtd's Cairo 2.9.0 update introduces closures, storage variable renaming, and enhanced proof capabilities for @Starknet via Stwo integration. Developers can now create provable executables and leverage Rust-like closures for smarter logic. Other updates include global imports, hex formatting, and local proof generation: https://community.starknet.io/t/cairo-2-9-0-is-out/115117…

The Cairo Language server has also been revamped for faster development, while Starknet Foundry sees 30% faster test compilation. Updates include sncast's calldata converter, public Scarb registry uploads, Starknet-rs ABI encoding, and Starknet.js support for SNIP-9 meta-transactions: https://cairo-lang.org/blog/cairo-community-update-1/…

Additionally, @LidoFinance's wstETH is officially live on Starknet, enabling users to bridge staked ETH for DeFi use. This move enhances Starknet’s liquidity, boosts TVL, and strengthens its DeFi ecosystem. Bridge wstETH now via Starkgate for seamless integration: https://starknet.io/blog/lido-officially-live-on-starknet/

zkSync

@zksync has unveiled a roadmap for 2025, aiming to deliver 'Web3 without compromise' via its elastic ZK chain network. Key goals include EVM bytecode compatibility, 10,000 TPS, cross-chain interoperability, decentralized sequencing, private validium for enterprise privacy, and user-friendly smart wallets: https://zksync.mirror.xyz/QG2Xr4lQdJTbyjeKftPVc6-pj2t9-H9WEGnvCcnusck…

Additionally, DeFi users can now mint zkETH on ZKsync via Dinero’s liquid staking protocol, earning ETH staking rewards. zkETH will soon expand across the entire Elastic Chain, offering broader accessibility beyond ZKsync Era: https://x.com/zksync/status/1864706776261591100

Polygon

@0xPolygon's Plonky3 reclaims its title as the fastest ZKP system, achieving 2M+ hashes/sec. This modular, open-source toolkit powers zkVMs like @0xLita's Valida and @SuccinctLabs's SP1: https://polygon.technology/blog/open-source-polygon-plonky3-is-once-again-the-fastest-zk-proving-system

Scroll

@Scroll_ZKP launches @openvm_org, a modular zkVM framework co-developed with @Axiom_Space. OpenVM supports custom VM extensions, RISC-V, proof aggregation, and onchain verification. Scroll plans to adopt OpenVM for Mainnet, enabling a Type-1 zkEVM with enhanced compatibility, security, and censorship resistance: https://scroll.io/blog/the-first-release-of-the-openvm-framework-is-live

=nil; Foundation

@nil_foundation introduces BOIL, a hash-based accumulator that enhances zkEVM scalability. By aggregating proofs via recursion, BOIL reduces prover overhead, offering a faster, more efficient approach.

The recently released research paper on BOIL can be found here: https://eprint.iacr.org/2024/1993

Kakarot

@KakarotZkEvm's EVM-on-Starknet has been successfully audited by @code4rena. With the audit complete, the team is now fully focused on developing its Ethereum proving engine.
